San Paolo Stadium Naples features information


The San Paolo Stadium in Naples is located in the district of Fuorigrotta and is the main multi-sports facility in the city, equipped with multi-purpose gyms and martial arts, and a basketball court. It is known above all from the point of view of football, being home to the internal matches of the SSC Napoli.

Currently it is the 2nd stage in Italy for effective capacity, after the Giuseppe Meazza stadium in Milan (which has 81 277 seats), and the 3rd for approved capacity, after the Meazza and the Olimpico stadium in Rome (which has 73 261 places).

At the San Paolo stadium, the match was held with the highest number of paying spectators in Italy, 89 992, on the occasion of Napoli-Perugia in the 1979/80 Italian championship, which took place on 21st October 1979 and ended with a score of 1-1.
